About NEET
Neet is a medical entrance examination conducted by NTA in accordance with NMC. The full form of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level medical entrance examination in India. It was introduced in 2013 by CBSE, as an attempt to unify all the medical entrance examinations across the country. NEET replaced AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) and other state-level examinations.
Criteria to write NEET Exam
Students who either passed or appearing for class 12 or equivalent exam with physics, chemsitry and biology as their subjects can sit in NEET exam. you have to pass in each all board subjects(P C B Eng or any other) individually. Means atleast 33% in each of the above subject. Then the next criteria is when you fill the form of counselling round 1 they will ask you marks of physics, chemistry and biology and will calculate percentage out of 300 automatically. And this PCB percentage should be greater or equal to 50%.
Provided also that to be eligible for NEET (UG), the candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations of NMC and DCI. In addition, they must have got a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.
Exam paper pattern of NEET exam
As per the NEET exam pattern, there will be 50 questions from each of the four subjects. There will be two sections in each subject, section A and section B. Section A will account for 35 questions and section B will have 15 questions. The candidates will have to attempt only 10 questions from section B. Biology have two sections separately for zoology and botany. All the four sections are physics, chemistry, zoology and botany. Total marks including the four section is 720 marks and total duration of neet exam is 3 hours 20 minutes.
When is NEET exam conducted
Usually NEET exam is conducted in the 1st or second may of each year. The result for the same is published in july or august of same year.
